I really love this recipe because frying is just a bridge too far for me most days. I understand most people don’t fry because of health but for me it’s mostly just laziness so if you want the delicious taste of sweet and sour chicken but less work – this is the recipe for you.
No Fry Sweet and Sour Chicken
Make the sauce in a saucepan by combining the sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, garlic and onion powder, and ketchup. Stir and bring to a low boil.
Add the cornstarch/water mixture to the sauce pan and stir until thickened and turn the heat off.
Next add the chicken pieces and corn starch to a large ziplock bag or tupperwear, seal and shake to coat.
Heat oil in a large pan and once hot, add the coated chicken, cook for 3-5 minutes then add the peppers and onions and cook through.
Turn the heat off, add the sauce to the chicken and stir to coat.
