Bento: Breakfast, Greek, and Dinner

Made 5, took pictures of 3 which is pretty good. Little blurry but I’ve been taking them as we rush out the door for work. Probably not the best time!

<
Contents: Pancakes, strawberry yogurt, fruit salad

Contents: Greek salad w/ grilled chicken, side of greek salad dressing (yogurt-sour cream with dill and cucumber sauce)

Contents: Couscous with grilled spinach, feta cheese and crackers, grapes

Next week we’ll work on less blur (and maybe less time crunch!)

Menu: Bad Bento

I have been really bad about bentos (with 0 pictures!) and have only made 2 and in addition I didn’t really stick to this weeks menu plan either. Going to try and be a bit more together this week but the holidays make stuff much more difficult.

Sunday:

Monday:
lunch – chicken cheese chili
dinner – gyro salad

Tuesday:
lunch – couscous w/ spinach
dinner – duck coconut red curry

Wednesday:

dinner – shrimp dish tbd

Thursday:

Saturday:

Bento: A Bit of an Off Week

Still working on making these the night before but work is really hectic this time of year so even though I made lunch every day didn’t take a picture of quite as many as I made. Oh well still very good!

Salad w/ blue cheese dressing, cheesy couscous, and an orange

Hopefully more pictures next week!

Menu: The Bistro

This week I’m committed to using the Groupon that we got for a small Bistro in downtown Seattle. I’ve been avoiding it because they stopped taking reservations and I didn’t want to get stuck downtown waiting for a table. We’re going to try going on an unpopular week night to avoid any potential issues.

Sunday:

Monday:
lunch – quiche w/ salad and fruit
dinner – baked miso fish

Tuesday:

Thursday:

dinner – burritos

Friday:

dinner – japanese curry

Saturday:
lunch – pancakes
dinner – curry leftovers

Recipe: Tri-Color Venetian Cookies

I make these every year for Christmas/New Years. They come out amazing and they’re eye-catching and delicious. They are not simple to make and will take you at least 3 hours usually between the cooking and cooling and pressing and mixing and so on. They are some of the most expensive cookies I make regularly due to the almond paste, jam, a large amount of butter, almond extract, and the chocolate for the top but I think they’re worth every penny. The recipe makes 40-50 cookies depending how you cut them and makes a fantastic gift.

Menu: Arts and Crafts

It’s been really hectic these past few week. I’ve been in to making crafts lately because of my friend Mochi so I feel like I just have a little less time to cook because of that. This week I’ll be shipping out my Xmas gifts which will take a big weight off my back 🙂 Anyway basic menu for the week below like usual.
