Meta: Getting Better

Only 6 weeks in-between posts now, much better. I’m going to try for once a week at least from here on out but you know how good I am at updating so don’t be shocked if that’s not the case.

The reason I want to start posting again is:

-I’m now forced to take lunch at work so I need to start back up with bentos so I don’t waste all my money on lunches.

-We joined a CSA, specially this one. And I want to document what that’s all about for people who might have wanted other options for sustainable, organic produce.

I don’t have any pictures of my cooking from this past week though it included: Curried Lentils, Quick Chocolate Cupcakes, Cauliflower Soup, and Baked Fish Casserole.

For me weekends are freebies in terms of food so I just make and eat what I want though I am rather thinking about making some mushroom ravioli tonight and probably Sweet and Sour Chicken this weekend.

I hope to have my bento menu and dinner menu worked out by tomorrow so I can prep on Sunday night as best as I can.

In the meantime our first CSA box is coming on Thursday and it will contain:

0.33 pound Salad Mix (Cut Greens)
1 Cucumbers
0.5 pound Sugar Snap Peas
3 Lemons
1 bunch Spring Onions
1 pound Red Grapes
1 bunch Bunched Carrots
1 Cantaloupe
1 Cauliflower
4 Valencia Oranges
1.5 pounds Klamath Pearl Potatoes
1 pound Roma Tomatoes

Wow! I’m not even sure we can use all that in a week but I’m excited to try. Since we go shopping on Friday anyway it’s very helpful to know what I have before I go. In the meantime we’ll be finishing off what’s in our fridge in terms of fruit and vegetables to make room for all that goodness.
